Groundwork is partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to help achieve a complete and accurate count of our population as part of the 2010 Census. Conducted every 10 years, the census defines who we are as a nation. It guides critical decisions on the national, state and local levels that affect members our community and the quality of our day-to-day lives.
For an accurate count, it’s essential that everyone in the United States must be counted – both citizens and noncitizens. Completing your census form gives you a voice to shape our communities today and create a brighter future for tomorrow.
Groundwork is partnering with a coalition led by Forgotten Children of Haiti to collect relief items for the people of Haiti. Tuesday’s earthquake has caused unspeakable horror and damage to the country and left millions in need.
In this time of catastrophe, Groundwork is joining with other NYC based organizations that provide direct service in Haiti to provide relief. Below please will find a list of items that are most needed. Beginning on Tuesday, we will have two drop off locations. One is our 595 Sutter Avenue office (10am to 6pm, M-F) and the other is the Sumner Community Center located at 862 Park Avenue (3pm to 9pm, M-F, and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays).
