![]() Groundwork is partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau to help achieve a complete and accurate count of our population as part of the 2010 Census. Conducted every 10 years, the census defines who we are as a nation. It guides critical decisions on the national, state and local levels that affect members our community and the quality of our day-to-day lives. For an accurate count, it’s essential that everyone in the United States must be counted – both citizens and noncitizens. Completing your census form gives you a voice to shape our communities today and create a brighter future for tomorrow. In past censuses, some people did not participate in the census due to lack of awareness, misinformation, immigration concerns or concerns about confidentiality. By law, the Census Bureau cannot share respondents’ answers with anyone, including the IRS, FBI, CIA or any other government agency. All Census Bureau employees take the oath of nondisclosure and are sworn for life to protect the confidentiality of the data.
The penalty for unlawful disclosure is a fine of up to
$250,000 or imprisonment of up to five years, or both. Over the next
