One Family at a Time

An initiative of the Robin Hood Foundation, Single Stop provides "one stop shopping" for a wide array of family support and survival services at no cost and without appointment.

Visitors at Single Stop are initially screened for their eligibility for public benefits using the Self-Sufficiency Calculator, an on-line tool developed by the Women's Center for Education and Career Advancement.

If we determine that a family is eligible for public benefits (e.g. food stamps, WIC, HEAP, or public housing), Single Stop staff works with the family to make sure they receive the support they need.

Also, Single Stop offers free, unbiased budgeting and financial advice from Citibank professions and legal advice from attorneys with the Brooklyn Legal Service Corporation - all provided on-site and free of charge -- and provides free tax preparation during tax season.

Groundwork is one of 17 Single Stop sites city wide. Groundwork's Single Stop site is open on Tuesday evenings.
